Teen shot dead in front of mom at Chicago South Side laundromat - Gunman makes a clean get-a-way

Could they have been running a money laundering operation?

A teenage boy was shot dead in front of his mother Friday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

Jalen Stogner, 17, and his mother were at a laundromat in the 4800 block of South Ashland Avenue when Stogner got into a verbal fight with a man about 4:20 p.m., officials said.
The man pulled out a gun and shot Stogner in the chest, police said, adding that the shooting appeared to be gang-related.

Stogner, of the 6600 block of South Rhodes Avenue, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where doctors pronounced him dead at 5:11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
