Chicago Police wound black man in West Woodlawn neighborhood
Chicago police wounded a man late Wednesday night in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.
Officers from the Grand Crossing Police District were conducting an investigation around 9:45 p.m. in the area of the 6600 block of South Langley Avenue where a person had been shot earlier in the evening, according to a brief statement from police.
When the officers tried interviewing a man walking down the street, police said he pulled a handgun and pointed it at the officers. One of the officers fired and hit the man in the lower back, according to police.
